Undergraduate Bachelor Programs

Earning your bachelor’s degree in music at MSMU gives you the opportunity to earn full-tuition scholarships each year, based on your dedication to your art. Other generous music scholarship awards are available to all Mount students, regardless of their major.

Here’s a closer look at the various scholarship programs available at MSMU:

Full Tuition Music Scholarships

These are awarded to both incoming music majors and transfer students. A music audition and interview are required. Scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate exceptional musical talent and proficiency.

Music Scholarships

These awards in varying amounts are available to incoming or current music majors, music minors, and incoming transfer students.  A music audition and interview are required.

MSMU Music Ensemble Merit Awards

These awards are given to non-music majors who demonstrate instrumental and/or vocal proficiency and are consistently enrolled in MSMU Ensembles. Music scholarships are based on merit and the needs of the various MSMU performing ensembles. Award money is given for participation in Mount Orchestra, Mount Chorus, and Mount Singers.  A music audition and interview are required.

The scholarship committee will notify you with any award. Results for special audition dates may take longer.

It’s important to note that Ensemble Music Scholarships do not require you to be a music major to quality. Instead, you agree to the requirements of the scholarship, which generally include the following:

  • Participate in your assigned ensemble(s)
  • Register as a full-time student (minimum load of 12 semester hours)
  • Maintain a 4.0 grade point average (GPA) in your music ensemble and an overall GPA of 3.0 in all classes
