a biennial social justice conference


2016 Theme: Environmental Education and Social Justice

Educators, community activists, and students gathered at Mount Saint Mary’s University Doheny campus in Los Angeles on Saturday, February 13, 2016, for the Critical Teaching in Action Conference. Attendees came together to share curricula that integrated or investigated the intersections of environmental education and social justice. The day included interactive workshops and demonstrations. 

Conference highlights:
Keynote Speaker: Tim Swinehart of A People's Curriculum for the Earth: Teaching Climate Change and the Environmental Crisis
Guerilla Gardener: Ron Finley - plants gardens in South LA  
Film Screening: This Changes Everything - Naomi Klein's documentary on climate change and it's possibilities for transformation
