Catholic Relief Services University Chapter

As part of the universal mission of the Catholic Church, we work with local, national and international Catholic institutions and structures, as well as other organizations, to assist people on the basis of need, not creed, race or nationality.

Catholic Relief Services Mission Statement

I AM THE CAUSE.  I AM THE SOLUTION.

Students throughout the nation are working to end Forced Migration and Global Hunger and take steps to mitigate the effects of environmental degradation on communities worldwide. Just as humanity has contributed to these problems, we have a shared responsibility to help solve them. Drawing on Catholic teaching, learn how you can create lasting change for good in the world. Become a Catholic Relief Services University Chapter Member!

You’ll attend training sessions and meetings, get to know other students who are  passionate about justice, lead fun and educational opportunities for the Mount community, and connect virtually and in person to our Congressional representatives!

Catholic Relief Services is a project of the US Catholic Bishops for global justice. As part of the universal mission of the Catholic Church, CRS works with local, national and international Catholic institutions and structures, as well as other organizations, to assist people on the basis of need, not creed, race or nationality. Overseas work is done in partnership with local church agencies, other faith-based partners, non-governmental organizations and local governments.

CRS falls under the umbrella of Caritas International, a Vatican-based confederation of over 160 member organizations who are working at the grassroots in almost every country of the world.

Why does the Mount support the work of CRS?

For more than 75 years, CRS has been providing expertise and compassion to the very poorest of our brothers and sisters in more than 100 countries. And it's because of people like you.

Companioning with the mission of MSMU, the call to service of the Gospel and Catholic Social Teaching, and the lived charism of the Sisters of St. Joseph, CRS helps our community expand their empathy with people around the world, grow in leadership skills, and take concrete action for change.
