Meet the Coach

Radenko Miskovic was named Mount Saint Mary’s University Head Running Coach in August 2019.

Coach Rad, originally from Belgrade, Serbia, began his youth sports career with soccer followed by basketball, swimming, and track and field.  He excelled in swimming and won couple of National Championship titles in sprint butterfly and freestyle.

After finishing his swimming career in 2005, he spent a year in Caribbean Island of Saint Martin working in the fitness industry. There, he began to aspire to become one of the best speed and sports performance coaches in the world so he moved to New York City and started a track club for sprinters at the world-renowned Chelsea Piers Sports Complex in Manhattan. Here, he was able to produce a U.S. national team member in the 400m and also significantly enhance the performance of all of his athletes. At the same time, he works with athletes in other sports including professional boxers, football, basketball, ice hockey and tennis players on their sport-specific speed development.

In the fall of 2016, he moved to Los Angeles where he first coached sprinters at Pacific Palisades High School. In one season he managed to improve his athletes’ times by a huge margin. After, he continued his work as a personal trainer for elite level athletes in the LA area. Most recently, he coached a group of talented sprinters from the country of Slovenia that won 60m indoors, 100m as well as 4x100m relay National Championship 2019 titles.

He even found time to train himself in track and field and qualified for the U.S. Clubs National Championships in the 200m in 2015. He continues to compete in track and field as masters in sprinting events and decathlon – most recently at 2018 World Masters Championships, held in Malaga, Spain.

Coach Rad graduated from Sports Academy with a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science, in his native Belgrade, Serbia. He also holds certifications from; USA Track and Field, (USATF) – level 2 for sprints/hurdles/relays, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS-NSCA), Sports Nutrition Specialist (NASM), Personal Trainer (ACSM) and more.
