Mock Trial Students 2017

Melanie Sava '17 and Emely Reardon '19 display their Outstanding Attorney and Outstanding Witness Awards, respectively, at the end of the American Mock Trial Association's California regional tournament.

Winning in the courtroom

Two Mount Saint Mary’s University students took home top honors at the American Mock Trial Association’s California Regional Tournament, hosted at Pomona College this spring semester.

Melanie Sava ’17 won an Outstanding Attorney award, a fitting honor for the senior political science and global politics double major who was accepted to every Ivy League law school in the country. She will be attending Yale Law School in the fall. Emely Reardon ’19, a political science major, also won an Outstanding Witness award at the competition.

Mount Saint Mary’s Mock Trial team is coached by Helen Boutrous, PhD, chair of the History and Political Science Department. The University’s full Mock Trial team also includes: Adriana Ramirez '17, Lea Bonilla '17, Angela Lemus '18, Carsie Mendoza '20, Monique Madrid '17, Karina Gastelum '20, Giselle Sipaque '17 and Vercia Reyes '17
