Mount Welcomes New Board Chair and Trustees in 2012-13

July 2, 2012 -- The Mount welcomes a new chair of its Board of Trustees and four new members to the governing board during the 2012-13 year.

At its May meeting, the Board of Trustees approved new Chair Judith R. McDonald, effective July 1. McDonald succeeds Michael A. Enright. McDonald is a founding board member and a member of the advisory committee of Young & Healthy, a nonprofit organization that provides free health care to uninsured children in the greater Pasadena, Calif., area. She served for three years as president of Good Shepherd Center for Homeless Women and Children in Los Angeles. She is a past president of Mothers’ Club Family Learning Center in Pasadena and continues to serve as a community advisor. She attended Manhattanville College and California State University, Los Angeles.

The new board members are:
Shireen Fatemi is an assistant area medical director for Southern California Medical Group, and earned her doctor of medicine degree from the University of Health Sciences at The Chicago Medical School.

Susan Georgino '01 MA is principal of Georgino Development and serves as an adjunct professor of organizational leadership at Woodbury University. In addition to her Mount degree, she has earned bachelor's and master's degrees from California State University, Los Angeles.

Gabriel A. Gutierrez is a retired Los Angeles Superior Court Judge who served with the Los Angeles County courts for more than 20 years. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Santa Clara, a law degree from the University of Santa Clara School of Law, and has taught at the University of La Verne College of Law.

Cambria Smith '00 MA is parish life director for Holy Family Catholic Church in South Pasadena. In addition to her Mount master's degree, she holds her bachelor's degree from Oxford University.

Also at the trustees' May meeting, the board named Helen S. Astin trustee emerita.
