Mount Saint Mary's Named a 'Top 10' Women's College

Mount Saint Mary’s University has earned a new top ranking, this time as one of the Top 40 “Best U.S. Women’s Colleges” – and the Mount has come in at No. 10.

The ranking was released by College Choice, an independent publication dedicated to helping students and their families find the right college. In its ranking of the Mount, College Choice wrote: “The school has evolved into an institution with stellar academics and outstanding leadership development. Mount Saint Mary’s students excel.”

The ranking cites the University’s “eclectic selection” of majors, the school’s “core” commitment to community engagement, and the success of Mount alums – including the 59% who go on to pursue advanced degrees.

“We are particularly proud of this ranking because it was based exclusively on factors that actual college freshmen said were most important to their college decision,” said Mount Saint Mary’s President Ann McElaney-Johnson.

Those factors were culled from a nationwide survey published by the Higher Education Research Institute, and included: academic reputation, financial aid offerings, overall cost, and success of graduates in the post-college job market.

“Our promise to our students is that we will empower you to reach your highest potential – so that our students can better themselves and others,” said President McElaney-Johnson. “This ranking is proof again that, together, we are succeeding!”
