Thomas Cook
Instructor, Creative Writing
Biography
Dr. Cook holds an MFA in Poetry and PhD in American Literature. His first book of poems, Light Through a Pane of Glass, was published in 2020. His poetry and short fiction have appeared in Bennington Review, The Cincinnati Review, Denver Quarterly, and has been collected in four chapbooks. He has twice been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and he teaches Studies in Editing and Publishing.
Teaching Statement
Dr. Cook's courses focus on our roles as writers in a program of writers and a world of writers beyond the university. In his courses, students will develop their aesthetic and craft with an eye toward to world of editing and publishing beyond academia. Students will gain experience in work of writing that will sustain them as they write and revise their books and find their footing in the literary marketplace.
