Mae Choe

S. Mae Choe is currently a part-time faculty member in the General Counseling Psychology program. She primarily teaches research methods and design. Mae has over 15 years of experience working in the nonprofit sector in the areas of grant writing, program development, creative writing, and cross-cultural mediation. She was also the former Director of Foundation Relations at Mount St. Mary’s University.Mae is currently a PhD candidate in education at Claremont Graduate University. Her current research focuses on creativity and talent development of diverse populations, including Asian American and Pacific Islander experiences in higher education. Her dissertation examines the path to creative accomplishments of comics artists. Mae has presented her work at several national conferences including the American Educational Research Association (AERA), the Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE), and the National Association for Multicultural Education (NAME).  She recently co-authored a publication on notable Asian American women in the Journal for the Education of the Gifted (2018).
