Mount Saint Mary’s University has once again been selected as a LEAD Initiative Participating Institution to continue serving at the forefront of a national movement that demonstrates a commitment to supporting the work of student affairs by making civic learning and democratic engagement a part of every college student’s education. This is the seventh year that the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) has selected MSMC as a LEAD Institution.
“Civic learning and democratic engagement is at the heart of our mission at the Mount, and we are proud to once again be designated as a NASPA Lead Institution,” said Rosalyn Kempf, Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs and Women Leadership. “Through our Mount Leads and MSMU Votes initiatives, we work collaboratively with faculty, staff and students to provide programs and experiences that encourage civic-minded leadership on campus and in our communities.”
As a LEAD Institution, MSMC will continue to partner with programs on and off campus that cultivate student engagement in civic affairs and awareness. The Mount also will strengthen strategic objectives and learning outcomes for its student affairs work, and has established timelines to achieve goals supporting civic learning and democratic engagement.
“We are especially proud of the role our students play in encouraging their peers to be informed, get involved and make a difference,” said Kempf.
MSMC is joining more than 60 other colleges and universities across the nation that also serve as LEAD Institutions. To view a full list of the 2019-2020 LEAD Initiative Participating Institutions, please click here.
