The 1940s-era suspenseful drama about Nurse Ratched, the iconic character from Ken Kesey's 1962 novel “One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest,” features locations from both Chalon and Doheny’s Campuses as part of the Netflix series’ fifth episode, produced by Ryan Murphy.
Specifically, The Circle at Chalon Campus and the Pompeian room in the Doheny Mansion are showcased in an episode featuring actors Sophie Okonedo and Sharon Stone alongside the series lead Sarah Paulson.
Many students and members of the Mount community have shared their excitement on social media about seeing their beloved campuses featured in “Ratched,” which rocketed to #1 on Netflix the weekend of its release. “I immediately squealed with delight, ‘There's the Mount; there's my school!’ It was wonderful to see how beautiful things looked. I kept rewinding the episode to keep looking at the campus,” says Valerie Krause ’90, ’04 MA.
