Advancing Women in Technology has honored Shannon Shank, MSMU Senior Director of Enterprise Applications, with the organization’s 2019 Outstanding Executives in Technology award. The award is presented to women who have worked in the technology field for at least a decade and have achieved a level of success based on the criteria of their employers or other organizations.

Shank received her award along with 15 other female executives during a scholarship fundraising event hosted by Advancing Women in Technology. The annual awards event is held to recognize up-and-coming professional women who have successfully established technology careers in engineering, software development, business analytics and management.

“To be recognized for my work in technology is humbling, particularly because I was the only woman nominated in the higher education field,” said Shank. “This award speaks volumes for the work I’ve done so far in my career, and I’m honored to have been chosen by those who see my work from afar.”

Amid a shortage of women pursuing STEM degrees and technology careers, Advancing Women in Technology is committed to recognizing California women who have entered the tech industry and are making great strides in the field. The organization honors women who have demonstrated achievements and key competencies in technology, such as collaboration, creativity, innovation, leadership and transformation.
