The MSN program at Mount Saint Mary’s University offer three specialty tracks and one post-MSN certificate program track. All of our specialty tracks provide nurses with the skills and knowledge they need to address challenges and opportunities in the world of nursing. All of our specialty tracks will also train students in patient-care technologies to deliver and coordinate the highest level of care.

Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist
Become a nursing specialist by increasing your specialty knowledge and developing advanced clinical skills in Adult Gerontology. Coursework in this MSN specialty track prepares graduates to sit for the American Nurses Credentialing Center's (ANCC) Clinical Nurse Specialist in Adult-Gerontology certification examination.
Contribute to the field of nursing education by leading and facilitating the knowledge acquisition and skill mastery of future generations of nurses and other members of the healthcare team. In this MSN specialty track, nurse educators develop strategies for curriculum design, teaching methodology, and the use of technology in a variety of academic, clinical, and community settings.
Leadership and Administration
Lead your healthcare organization by mastering and applying responsible and ethical administrative and organizational leadership skills. Inherent in this MSN specialty track is the personal and professional transformation essential to nurse leaders of today.
Post-MSN Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist Certificate
The Post-MSN CNS Certificate is designed for nurses who have earned an accredited Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree and wish to obtain Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) certification in the specialty field of Adult Gerontology.
