MSMU professor Nancy Pine lectures at Nanjing University in China

Emeritus MSMU professor Nancy Pine recently gave a lecture about Mount St. Mary's University to English majors at Nanjing University in China. The students, all freshmen English majors, are deciding whether to spend a semester at MSMU. MSMU and Nanjing University have a student exchange agreement that grew out of Pine's decades of collaboration with the prestigious Chinese university. The Nanjing students were curious about what types of courses are available, what challenges they would meet in an American environment, what dorm living is like, and plenty more. Pine also had lunch with the three students who will begin a semester at the Mount in January. Nancy Pine has done research on education in China and the United States for over 20 years, and her book, Educating Young Giants: What Kids Learn (And Don't Learn) in China and America , will be published by Palgrave Macmillan in May
