Global Education in China

abe-jJulie Feldman-Abe, PhD, Director of the Elementary Education Program and Director of the Center for Cultural Fluency is taking a group of students to China as part of a graduate study course:

EDU 199/299: Special Topics: Global Education in China. (Spring 2014)

Course participants are a diverse group of educators --graduate students, alumni, MSMU faculty/staff - interested in learning about Chinese culture through a focus on schooling. The course will use a text written by Education department faculty emeritus, Dr. Nancy Pine - Educating Young Giants: What Kids Learn and Don't Learn in the US and China. Participants will visit Shanghai, Beijing and Nanjing where they will visit Nanjing University and local K-12 schools and have dialogues with Chinese students and faculty.
