EdSurge Summits

Rechelle Pavel has been employed as a 3rd grade teacher for the LA Archdiocese for four years and has taught at the elementary level for 6 years. She has her Masters Degree in Instructional Leadership. Currently, Rechelle uses different forms of technology in the classroom including a SMARTBOARD and shared student iPads. She also uses Edmodo in the classroom to create a virtual classroom for both parents and students. Rechelle uses different apps on the iPad to help assess student learning and to use technology at the transformation levels. She is also a part of her school's Technology Committee and is currently working on investigating and implementing a Bring Your Own Device program for students at the upper elementary level.

Educators and edtech organizations need to have honest, open conversations about edtech challenges and opportunities. EdSurge Summits bring together teachers, administrators and companies for two days of experimentation, learning and relationship building. Former student Rechelle Pavel (M.S. in Instructional Leadership '14) will be an Educator Judge at the Los Angeles Summit of edSurge 2014. More information can be obtained at
