Marriage & Family Therapy (60 Units)

The traditional Marriage and Family Therapy specialization requires the completion of 60 units of coursework and can be completed in 2 or 3 years. Prior to registration, graduate psychology students work with an assigned faculty advisor each semester to plan and customize an efficient semester-by-semester education plan.

Electives 


Select at least 3 units from the following:

  • PSY 234 - Career Counseling (3) 
  • PSY 290 - Mindfulness (1) 
  • PSY 290 - Spiritual Counseling (1) 
  • PSY 290 - Gender Roles & Spanish-Speaking Communities (1) 
  • PSY 290 - Forensic Psychology (1) 
  • PSY 290 - Working with Special Education & Court Ordered Clients (1) 
    *Each semester one-unit courses will be offered on a rotating basis*

Total Units: 60
