All traditional undergraduate students are automatically considered for Mount Saint Mary’s University merit awards at the time of admission. Most of these scholarships are based on previous academic achievement and no additional applications are required. For students entering in fall 2021, standardized test scores will not be considered for merit scholarship decisions.
Our full-tuition Le Puy Founders Award for incoming first-year students recognizes the highest levels of academic achievement and applicants' service in the spirit of our founding Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. Students interested in being considered for this scholarship must complete the additional essay in the MSMU section of the Common Application and submit their application by December 1. Finalists are invited to interview with the scholarship committee each February.
The Music Department also awards scholarships. Audition and admission requirements can be viewed on the Music Website.
Once you are admitted to MSMU, you won’t have to wait long for news about most merit scholarships. You’ll hear about the awards listed below within a month of receiving your admission decision.
For first-year students entering in the 2021-2022 academic year, the scholarship amounts will be:
President's Award: $15,000 - $17,000
Carondelet Award: $14,000
Provost Award: $12,000
Opportunity Award: $11,000
Best of all, merit awards are renewable over your four years as a traditional undergraduate student at the Mount provided you remain in good academic standing.
