Nursing Transfer Students

  • ADN:

    Our Associates Degree in Nursing (A.D.N) program is designed for adults wishing to complete their preparation as a Registered Nurse (R.N.) in an evening and weekend or afternoon and weekend format. Clinicals are completed on weekends (Fri/Sat/ or Sat/Sun) in a variety of Greater Los Angeles area facilities. Students must provide their own reliable transportation to and from clinical facilities.  The deadline for the Spring term is September 1.  More information on the ADN Program.

    BSN:

    The Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (BSN) program is designed for students to meet present and future needs in the health care system. Graduates of the BSN program, which is approved by the California Board of Registered Nurses and accredited by the Collegiate Commission on Nursing Education, are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN licensure exam qualify for the Public Health Nursing Certificate.  The deadline for the Fall start term is February 1.  More information on the BSN Program.

    Accelerated BSN:

    The Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is designed for those who have previously completed a baccalaureate degree in another field and have successfully completed the necessary prerequisites for this program. The program starts twice a year, in the Summer and Fall. The program is limited to 40 students each start term. This is an intensive three semester program that requires students' full attention and focus. The deadline for the Fall start term is March 1 and the deadline for the Summer start term is October 15.  More information on the Accelerated BSN Program.

    RN to BSN Non-Traditional Completion Program (Post-Licensure):

    The RN to BSN completion program is designed to meet the needs of the working nurse who want to advance their nursing education. Whether you are working 12 hours shifts or Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm, students will be able to complete the program in as little as three semesters of full time study. Students will take General Study courses in the Weekend College (WEC). Preceptorships will be during the week and arranged individually to meet the student’s needs. Students must provide their own reliable transportation to and from clinical facilities.     MSMU - Mt. SAC RN to BSN Program (Post-Licensure)

    The MSMU RN to BSN program will be offered on the Mt. SAC campus for Mt. SAC ADN graduates. The program consists of three continuous semesters of full-time study to complete 22 units of required upper division nursing and 9 units of required General Studies (31 total units to be taken with MSMU). This is a competitive application process and a cohort of 50 students will be selected to begin Fall 2017 and graduate in Summer 2018. Applicants will be admitted based on meeting all of the minimum admission requirements and their composite score ranking (see Admission Requirements for specific details). Classes will be held two evenings a week on the Mt. SAC campus. Assigned clinical experiences will be arranged in the "Mt. SAC geographical area" and Los Angeles County and may be on any day of the week. Students must provide their own reliable transportation to and from clinical facilities.
