Our RN to BSN program is designed with the working nurse professional in mind. Our degree program is fully online, making it easy for you to continue your education on your own schedule. And in as little as three semesters, you could be a proud graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from MSMU.
When you are admitted to the Mount’s RN to BSN program, you’ll attend classes on your computer, at your own pace. Programs begin in both fall and spring. Preceptorships are required in your second and third semesters; these are held on weekdays and scheduled at a time that is convenient for you. (Reliable transportation is required.) If you need to complete general study requirements, you may enroll in classes offered by our program.
As with all Mount nursing programs, our RN to BSN Program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. We are also accredited by the California Board of Registered Nurses, the Western Association of Schools and College, and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing.
If you DO NOT already have your RN license, you can consider applying to the Mount's Transfer BSN or Accelerated BSN degree programs.

Completion of the RN to BSN program requires 22 units (Nursing Courses) and is billed per unit. At $739 per unit, the tuition cost is $16,258.
There are also 21 units (General Education) required, and these may transfer in from previous courses taken. These courses taken through the Weekend/Evening & Online College is billed at $663 per credit hour.
Based on transferrable credits, total tuition will vary for each student.

Key Dates
While applications are reviewed on a rolling basis for each term, we recommend applying by the priority deadline.
Priority deadline for Spring is November 1; the start date for the spring term is early January.
Priority deadline of Fall is April 1; the start date for the fall term is end of August.
Students may not apply to more than one of our nursing programs within the same start term.

RN to BSN Minimum Requirements
Minimum requirements for consideration are as follows:
- 2.8 cumulative GPA
- 2.5 cumulative science GPA (Chemistry, Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, Microbiology)
- Unencumbered, valid, active RN license in the state of California
- Completion of all prerequisite requirements with a grade of C or better

Mt. SAC RN to BSN Program
Mount Saint Mary's University offers an innovative nursing degree program for Associate Degree in Nursing graduates of Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC) in Walnut, CA.
The Mt. SAC RN to BSN program is taught 100% online and spans three semesters of full-time study. You'll complete 22 units of upper division nursing and 9 units of required General Studies (for a total of 31 MSMU units).
Mt. SAC student receive a special rate of $510 per unit for nursing courses and $620 per unit for general education courses.
With only 50 positions available each fall semester, you'll want to apply as soon as possible. You'll take your general education course from our Weekend/Evening & Online College, while your preceptorships will be held in local facilities nearby. As an admitted student to the Mt. SAC RN to BSN program, you will receive a complete class schedule before the semester begins.
Kaiser Permanente Rate
Current employees of Kaiser Permanente receive a 15% tuition discount.
MSMU ADN Graduate Rate
Graduates of Mount Saint Mary's University's retired Associate Degree in Nursing Program will receive a special rate of $500 per unit. Additionally, these graduates are NOT required to submit letters of recommendation or a personal essay.
