International Housing at MSMU
Choosing to earn your degree in another country is a big decision. That is why we want to make sure you are as well-situated as possible after you arrive at Mount Saint Mary's University.
International graduate and undergraduate students are encouraged to live on campus. Undergraduate students, in particular, are strongly encouraged to live on campus during their first year of attendance. Both Chalon and Doheny offer comfortable living situations that can help you integrate into our community quickly, improve your language skills, make new friends, collaborate on educational projects, and enjoy social activities with fellow students.
Living on campus also allows you to be at a walking distance from the university's library, cafeteria, and classrooms, which means you will able to have more time to study and relax. Other benefits of living on-campus include:
Utilities- off campus housing comes with additional costs for electricity, water, internet, cable etc. With on-campus housing, you pay one bill that covers all expenses and is applied directly to your student account.
Room and Meal Options- You can choose to live in a single or a large double and also have the option of choosing a meal plan or opt out of it.
Safety- There is on-campus security coverage 24 hours a day which makes living on campus a safe and comfortable place.
Community and Friendships - Living on campus allows you to create bonds that may be harder to make living off campus.
Proximity to Places - The campus is centrally located to all that downtown Los Angeles has to offer, including L.A. Live, Olvera Street, Union Station, Little Tokyo, Koreatown, and museums.
Once you have been admitted to MSMU and paid your tuition deposit (if required), you will be able to apply for on-campus housing. On-campus housing is limited, so please make sure to reserve your space as soon as possible. For more information, please contact the Residence Life Office at 213.477.2661, Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm.
