Advanced Placement Exams

At Mount Saint Mary’s University students who earn scores of 4 or 5 in Advanced Placement Examinations may receive up to one year of credit and, in some cases, fulfillment of the Mount's General Studies (GS)/General Education (GE) requirement.

Students who earn a score of 3 receive 3 units of elective credit. Students who receive a 4 or 5 for an examination for which they have already fulfilled a GS/GE requirement will also receive 3 units of elective credit.

Advanced Placement test results should be sent from the College Board directly to Mount Saint Mary’s University, Office of Admissions.

LANGUAGE

GE 4 Modern Language requirement (SPA 1 & SPA 2)  Even though you have completed our language requirement, if you decide to continue your study of Spanish after you enroll at MSMU, you will be required to take a placement exam to determine your competency level. Increasing your Spanish Language literacy could be very helpful in your future career, considering today’s diverse society.
