Mount to Host Math And Science Conference for Girls

WHAT: The 32nd annual Expanding Your Horizons in Science & Mathematics Career Conference, where more than 200 girls in grades five through eight learn more about the critical fields of science, technology, engineering and math – known as STEM fields – through hands-on classes, experiments and more.

WHO: Girls come from across Los Angeles. The cost to attend the conference is $10. The Mount donates space to host the conference. Parents, teachers and counselors also attend sessions on preparing for college and financial aid, supporting girls' ambitions in the STEM fields, and managing their own anxieties about math or science. The conference is organized by Math/Science Interchange, a group of academic and industry professionals committed to bringing math and science opportunities to young women in the Los Angeles area.
