Mount Community Mobilizes to Help Hurricane Victims
Sept. 9, 2005-- The Office of Student Activities, Doheny Campus, sponsored a New Orleans style fundraiser on in September and raised more than $2,000 in just two hours.
Altogether, the College raised nearly $4,000 and presented a check to Catholic Charities, USA, to provide relief assistance. Click here to read related story.
Student Brooke Hogan prepared the delicious Creole Cuisine that was served. Numerous members of Brooke's family are survivors of Hurricane Katrina.
The College’s Campus Ministry program has been coordinating efforts to help people fighting for survival in hurricane-ravaged parts of the Gulf. Items donated by Mount students, faculty, and staff, including clothing, toys, and toiletry items, will be shipped to emergency shelters in Louisiana the week of Sept. 12.
