Oct. 31, 2007 -- MEDIA ADVISORY: L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa Handing Out Candy at Mount Saint Mary’s University

WHAT: Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is scheduled to attend a community night of family Halloween fun on the downtown Doheny Campus of Mount Saint Mary’s University on Oct. 31. More than 5,000 families from surrounding communities are expected to enjoy a night of safe trick-or-treating at 100-year-old mansions along historic Chester Place, one of Los Angeles' first gated and most exclusive communities from the early 1900s. Chester Place became the Doheny Campus of Mount Saint Mary’s University in 1962.

*Children and adults also participate in costume and dance contests.

WHERE: 10 Chester Place
Los Angeles, CA 90007 (just south of downtown Los Angeles, near the intersection of Adams and Figueroa)

WHEN: 6 to 8 p.m.
NOTE: Mayor Villaraigosa is scheduled to attend between 6:30 and 7:15 p.m. Los Angeles police will also be on hand to support this annual community Halloween event.
