First Endowed Chair of Nursing Will Enhance Community Partnerships
Aug. 6, 2010 -- Mount Saint Mary’s University has hired its first endowed chair in nursing, filling a post designed to enhance community partnerships that benefit health care agencies and students.
Mary Molle is the Mount's new Fletcher Jones Endowed Chair in Nursing Partnerships in the Community. Most recently, Molle was a tenured professor at California State University, San Bernardino. She has held numerous roles with community health programs in the Inland Empire, and was awarded multiple grants during her time at the Cal State campus.
Molle earned her doctor of philosophy in relational psychology from Trinity College of Graduate Studies in Anaheim, Calif.; her master's degree in nursing with a specialty in parent/child health nursing/community health nursing from the University of Toronto; and her bachelor's degree in nursing from UCLA. Molle brings extensive experience in community partnerships and academic settings.
Molle began her employment with the Mount on Aug. 1. In her new role, Molle will work with nursing faculty to engage students in service-learning across the curriculum, establish a framework for faculty scholarly activities in areas of expertise, promote evidence-based practice and teach.
