End of Year Dinner Celebrates Faculty Promotions, Years of Service
May 17, 2006 -- The End of Year dinner hosted by the President's office honored faculty for years of service and celebrated faculty promotions.
Pam Haldeman, past chair of the Sociology and Gerontology Department, was promoted to full professor. Promotions to associate professor went to: Becky Otten, Tori Canillus-Dufau, and Madeleine Bruning in the Associate Degree in Nursing program; Pat Ash in the History/Political Science Department; Matthew Brosamer in the English Department; and Kelly McGoldrick in the Biology Department. Margaret Avila of the Associate Degree in Nursing program was promoted to assistant professor.
Becoming tenured, effective fall 2006, are Scott Bryson of the English Department and Julia Chang of the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Also honored were Eric Stemp of the Physical Sciences Department for 10 years of service, Mark Alhanati of the Business Administration Department for 20 years of service, and Sister Carol Purzycki, director of the Accelerated Nursing program, for 25 years of service.
New department chairs for fall 2006 are Alhanati in Business Administration, Pam Gist in the Psychology Department, and Sande Harte in the Sociology and Gerontology Department.
