College Outlines Key Campaign Messages

April 3, 2006 -- The College's Public Relations Department is moving steadily forward to fulfill its objective to create an awareness of Mount Saint Mary’s University and the $45-million Distinct, Diverse, Dynamic: Invest in the Mount Campaign. The department has outlined five goals to present a consistent case to key external and internal groups, and three key messages for the Campaign.

Visibility goals that have been set forth include:

Goal #1: For the Mount to be visible in Southern California.
Goal #2: For the Mount to be visible among key prospective donor groups
(Catholics, women, Los Angeles private sector, and Hispanic groups).
Goal #3: For the Mount to maintain strong relationships with city, state, and federal agencies and legislative representatives.
Goal #4: For the Mount to be viewed by the community and neighborhood as a  good neighbor.
Goal #5: For trustees, regents, faculty, staff, students, and alumnae to be aware of campaign goals and initiatives.

The Public Relations Department encourages Mount faculty and staff, as well as trustees, regents, and students, to help the College share three messages for the Campaign. They are:

1. The Mount is diverse. Mount students mirror the ethnic diversity of greater Los Angeles. An investment in the Mount is an investment in the city of Los Angeles.
2. The Mount is distinct. The Mount is the only women's Catholic college in the western United States. An investment in the Mount is an investment in the Catholic community.
3. The Mount is dynamic. The Mount responds to the evolving needs of students and the greater Los Angeles community. An investment in the Mount is an investment in L.A.'s future leaders.
