Business Students Offer Free Tax Preparation for L.A. Residents
March 21, 2007 -- Business students at Mount Saint Mary’s University (MSMU) in Los Angeles are offering free tax preparation services during March and April for elderly and low-income residents. The MSMU students, who are certified volunteers under the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, take a VITA course at the College as part of their business studies.
The tax preparation services—which are offered in English and Spanish—will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday nights March 7, 21, and 28, and April 4 and 11. The program, sponsored by the Internal Revenue Service, will be held on the Doheny Campus, 10 Chester Place, Los Angeles 90007 in Building 4, Room 211.
