  • Inaugural CSJ Heritage Tour led by President Ann McElaney-Johnson, “Following the Footsteps of our Founders.”

Sixteen members of the Mount Saint Mary’s University community have returned from our inaugural pilgrimage exploring the foundations of our heritage in France. Led by President Ann McElaney-Johnson, Mount trustees, faculty, staff, alumnae, sisters and friends joined together for ten days and immersed ourselves in the historic sites of the Sisters of Saint Joseph. After a few days in Paris exploring the sites and history of France, we journeyed to Le Puy where in 1650 six women formed the first community of the Sisters of St. Joseph. We then visited the sites of Mother St. John Fontbonne, who re-founded the sisters after the French Revolution. Our journey brought us to her hometown of Bas-en-Basset and ended in Lyon, where she is buried. Along the way we met many CSJs from France and around the world.

    Other programs include:

    Retreats for Alumnae

Mission education and formation for the Mount community and our partners

    Leadership training for social justice

    Future CSJ Heritage tours
