It's exciting to embark on a new career...

  • The AccBSN program offers the BSN program to students already holding a Bachelor's Degree.  The Accelerated Baccalaureate Nursing (AccBSN) Program is the same curriculum design as the Baccalaureate Nursing Program (BSN), follows the stated philosophy, and students meet the terminal objectives as delineated for the Baccalaureate program.   The program is within a one year (May to May) time frame and is a vigorous program of study. The Accelerated student completes a three semester course of study, beginning with the first Summer session, followed by a Fall semester, and ending with a final Spring semester. At the completion of the final semester, graduates are eligible to take the Registered Nurse licensure examination and to qualify for the California Public Health Nursing Certificate. The AccBSN program is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing.

To become licensed as a registered nurse, students must pass the NCLEX examination.  The percentage of Mount Saint Mary’s University students who passed the exam the first time they took it can be found at: http://www.rn.ca.gov/schools/passrates.shtml. The rates reported for BSN include students from the Accelerated BSN program.
